DOVER, DE (March 14, 2019) – Tidewater Utilities, Inc. announced that Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding (SDTR) will be the beneficiary of its 12th Annual Charity Golf Outing to be held at Heritage Shores Golf Course on Monday, August 12, 2019. Proceeds from this year’s event will help children and adults with disabilities receive equine therapy to increase cognitive, social, and self-esteem skills. SDTR was selected from numerous applications following presentations by several organizations as finalists.

“Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding is truly excited to be chosen as Tidewater Utilities’ partner at the 2019 Charity Golf Tournament.  SDTR’s mission is to improve the physical and emotional well-being of children and adults living with disabilities through equine assisted therapy in a supportive environment for riders and families,” said Scott Swingle, President of SDTR.  “Proceeds from the tournament will be used to help make targeted improvements at the farm for the safety and accessibility of our rider community as well as allow us to grow our program in Southern Delaware for which we are again truly grateful,” he added.

“Over the past decade, Tidewater has raised over $175,000 for various Delaware non-profit groups through its charity outing,” said Bruce O’Connor, President, Tidewater Utilities, Inc.  “We are pleased this year’s event will help the children and adults served by Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding and help promote a safer, more inclusive and accessible therapeutic experience,” added O’Connor.
