Middlesex Water Announces Proposed Offering of Common Stock
ISELIN, NJ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 10/09/06 -- Middlesex Water Company (NASDAQ: MSEX) (the "Company") announced today that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to its proposed offering of 1,300,000 shares of common stock. The Company has also granted the underwriters a 30-day over-allotment option to purchase up to an additional 195,000 shares.
The proceeds of the offering will be used to repay in full all of the Company's outstanding short-term borrowings and to partially finance its ongoing construction program.
