Tidewater Utilities Signs Temporary Water Sales Contract With Dover Air Force Base
ISELIN, NJ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/24/10 -- Middlesex Water Company (NASDAQ: MSEX), a provider of water and wastewater services primarily in New Jersey and Delaware, today announced that its Delaware subsidiary, Tidewater Utilities, Inc., has entered into a temporary agreement with Dover Air Force Base (DAFB) to supply drinking and other water supplies while the base upgrades its water supply system. The six-month contract allows for the transmission of water from one of Tidewater's largest water districts, which is contiguous to DAFB through an interconnected water line with an emergency backup. Tidewater anticipates supplying 50 million gallons of water throughout the construction period.
"We are proud to partner with our neighbors at DAFB and to be able to provide a short term solution as they enhance their infrastructure. Having supplied water to Dover Air Force Properties, the owner of the facility's off base housing for over four years, being able to serve DAFB in this capacity was a natural extension of our service and an efficient and practical solution," said Gerard L. Esposito, President, Tidewater Utilities.
